Is there any way to make the system “try again” if it has failed to resume after hibernate? When the system freezes during resume, I'd like to do a hard power off, then on next boot, maybe select some options in grub boot menu to force the system to try to restore the ram content one more time.
I’m trying to debug why my system fails to resume from hibernate one out of 20ish times. As it seems to freeze up while restoring ram content from disk, I don’t think there has been significant changes to the disk, hence it should be possible that it would work on the second try if the saved ram data was not corrupted. This way I hope to get somewhat closer to an answer of if it is a random hardware failure, or faulty hibernate data. Hibernate data is stored in the swap partition. |
