|
|
Greetings all.
I have a Gentoo server at a remote office configured on a wired network with really basic ifplugd/openrc.
The router reserves a static route to the server.
If the router gets rebooted I can no longer ssh into the Gentoo box.
This was trivial for me when I worked at an office.
Now its a problem.
my questions are:
Is this the expected behavior of ifplugd/openrc?
Do I need to do anything else to get a network up again if the router reboots?
I am not 100% sure its a gentoo issue just looking for ideas.
Thanks
EDIT never mind ifplugd works on the Gentoo box
it apparently is working fine, it appears to be a Ubuntu box running systemd thats not restarting. _________________ Donate to Gentoo |

Can you set a static IP on the Ubuntu box? The Ubutu based boxes that I run on a remote network all use a static IP with old-school configuration via /etc/network/interfaces and they hang on to their connection come hell or high water. _________________ Andy Figueroa
