PCI IDs are usually fused into PROM on the PCI card. If you are lucky, they may be FLASH or EEPROM.
Why would you wan to do that ?

he hacked his geforce by overiding the device id. so i want to try it also, may be i might be succesful, well i know this is a very hard research, but if i make it succesfully. ill post it here, |

That thread is about changing the kernel to identify one graphics card as another.
If nVidia distribite updated BIOS for their cards, you may be able to hack the BIOS. The location of the PCI ID is documented in the PCI standard. However, theres nothing that stops nVidia being standards compilant, then having another ID byte somewhere else in the BIOS for there own use. (That is, ignoring the ID in the standard)
Now you are down to hacking the video BIOS - you may find that you can't get your video card to work at all if you do that. At least, not without putting the original contents back in the PROM via JTAG. There are complications like checksums that you need to fix, or disable too.
