Ciao
il problema è che non riesco a far partire correttamente il kernel 2.6.0-test11
mi dice eth0 non bring-up
e che netmount non parte
(perdonate non ricordo l'esatta dicitura dell'errore  )
ho visto che la dir /etc/dhcpc è vuota
mentre in un altro pc con gentoo ci sono in quella dir
un paio di file che non ricordo il nome
visto che dovrei aver smanettato bene con la configurazione del kernel può essere questo il problema?
p.s. nel pc dove /etc/dhcpc è vuoto la rete funziona benissimo

è normale che quella cartella sia vuota se non usi il dhcp-client, comunque come ti ha detto albazeus hai caricato il modulo? devi far attenzione perché dal momento che usi il kernel 2.6 devi inserire il nome del modulo nel file /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 per caricarlo ad ogni avvio del sistema

Io prima di far andare la gentoo sul mio amato powerbook ho dovuto ricompilare il kernel quasi 30 volte!
Di solito, la maggioranza dei problemi e' dovuta a opzioni di troppo, o di meno nel kernel. Il mio consiglio e' di smanettare un po' col kernel finche' non trovi una buona configurazione. Prova a mettere ed a toglire opzioni ed a ricompilare, tanto credo che con un athlon XP non ci siano problemi di velocita....

Non so nel 2.6... nel config del 2.4.x c'é anche la sezione per i mouse.

La situazione è questa
pc gentoo kernel-2.6.0-test11 il mouse funziona
pc 2 gentoo kernel-2.6.0-test11 stessa configurazione del kernel Device Driver->Input device support->
[*] Mice
<*> PS/2 mouse
mouse non funziona
altro

inoltre il mouse non è rotto perchè l'ho provato e funziona
