Well, I think I found that it's probably mythtv actually suspending the machine and killing itself. While I probably could disable the suspending, I was wondering if there's another way to solve this issue - making it clean up before suspending, and then restore?
It appears one of the DVBs - an AVerMedia Microntas nGene DVB - fails to suspend/resume properly. I was suspecting if I rmmod the driver before suspending and re-insmod after resume, perhaps things would be fine. However mythbackend has hooks into the driver so I can't rmmod it....or is there a way that I could rmmod it prior to suspend, and re-insmod it after resume? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Hmm. Feared it may have come to this, have to cheese scripts and stop the backend before suspending and restart it afterwards; whether to rmmod and insmod the driver before or after the suspend may not matter from an experiment, though inconclusive yet (It's a PCIe DVB)...
Hopefully the fact that mythtv initiated the suspend to begin with doesn't cause issues when the system suspend scripts kill it after all, heh.

Nope, seems the dvb is still b0rked when rmmod and re-insmod after a suspend, so it looks like the rmmod needs to occur before suspend perhaps. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
