I've been having this issue for a while. Been building Prusa slicer from get source for over a year now. Now I get a fault on start up, it builds fine.

Code:
/prusaslic3r/src $ ./prusa-slicer
/var/tmp/portage/portage/x11-libs/wxGTK-3.0.4-r2/work/wxWidgets-3.0.4/include/wx/dynarray.h(837): assert "uiIndex < m_nCount" failed in Item().
Segmentation fault

File doesn't exist obviously, at least not there anyway.

I thought I should ask here first as cmake and build from prusa should never know about this location. Strangely it is the correct location where the build happened. Anyone have any idea what is being configured wrong on my system? I'm sure Prusa people will have no idea.

Thanks
Cory

Well that location is expected behavior, assert() and such end up hardcoding paths to aid in debugging but since source code normally deleted after successful compile, it's gone. In any case, it seems prusaslicer is calling wxgtk weirdly for some reason that's still not clear. As far as I can tell, and I'm no C++ coder, it seems the assertion is indicating that the program is reading off the end of an array, which is kind of bad...

You should first try to purge all your old prusaslicer relatedconfig files that you can find if they don't appear to contain useful information (and maybe delete them anyway after saving them) -- that would be my first attempt at trying to get this working. I've never used prusaslicer so no idea what files it uses. Likely it's an upstream issue.

(I use cura at the moment...)

Thanks for help. I created a new build directory and and searched the config files. Everything in the configs is readable and nothing related to paths. Just filament, printer, and setup information.

I guess I will post to the prussa forums then. I didn't understand that such information could have been hardcoded in during the build, so the outcome was completely confusing to me.

Thanks
Cory

Actually I meant completely remove them, regardless of path information. This includes delete stuff like file history, printer profile, retraction length, overhang cooling, etc., etc. - don't know if any of this has corruption or file format change. The idea of inspecting them is so you can put the same data back...

I removed the whole config dir and same failure. I did a hard reset of the git dir just to be sure and started with a fresh build folder. Guess I could delete the git dir and reclone it. But nothing should be in there as nothing is written to it in the build process.
Thanks

After a more extensive search, I found that Prusa has a known problem that I believe to be the same issue.
Thanks
