I'm loading Gentoo 1.4 from LiveCD (athalon) on my system that sports Highpoint RAID (HT370)
After creating my lilo.conf the system gaks on my settings:
Code:
cdimage / # /sbin/lilo
Fatal: raid_setup: stat("/dev/ataraid/disk0")

What's wrong?
Here is my lilo.conf:
Code:
boot=/dev/ataraid/disk0
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
lba32
default=linux
vga=792

image=/boot/bzImage
  label=linux
  read-only
  root=/dev/ataraid/disk0/part4

other=/dev/ataraid/disk0/part1
  label=Windows

Thanks again!

Well I think I know *part* of the problem. Spelling disc with a c instead of a k is probablly a good first step!! :roll:

I always get the order wrong:
Caffine THEN computer!

Now I'm at work and can reboot to try it out untill I get home tonight :cry:

/dev/ataraid does not show up inside the chroot environment unless you mount devfs there.

Usually I don't install a bootloader on ataraid from within the chroot. I do the first boot with a GRUB floppy, then install the bootloader from the running system (without chroot).
