ich möchte eine zweite x-session starten. ich führe also das kommando
startx -- :1
aus. nun wird mir auf vt8 auch eine zweite session gestartet und alles läuft gut. möchte ich nun aber auf die erste session auf vt7 wechseln, so crasht der xserver. tote tastatur, verzerrtes bild - halt so das übliche 
sonstige grafikfunktionen (spiele, tvkarte etc) funktionieren prima
woran liegt dieser crash? auf meinem zweitrechner klappt es wunderbar.
hard/software:
radeon9000 mit ati-drivers 3.2.8
xfree 4.3

Workaround :
For the screen corruption there is currently no workaround. For the colormap corruption run the following command:
fglrx_xgamma -gamma 1.0
To redraw the screen (instead of pulling a window around) you can run:
xfrefresh
Comments :
The system freeze only happens in KDE, kdm and gdm are unaffected, Gnome suffers from some gfx artifacts (fixed by moving windows over them). It can be seen on dark colors (AA fonts for example).
This are in fact two separate issues that ATI is aware of. One is a colormap corruption, the other one is the known screen corruption. |

| danke für deine antwort. dass es an ati liegen könnte, war meine befürchtung, da mein zweitsystem eine geforce-karte drin hat. |
