xinetd and proftpd is slooooow..

Hi,

I used to run proftpd as standalone server. Result: almost 9 Mbyte/sek on local network.

Now I have moved the proftpd server over to xinetd instead, for security reasons. Result: 56 Kbyte/sek on local network.

Is this normal, or is something VERY wrong?

that looks like something is wrong.

however i dont use proftpd, so I cant be much of assistance, however i use both glftpd and pure-ftpd and both work really nice.
glftd is started from xinetd and pure-ftpd runs as deamon.

Also pure-ftpd is very secure, maybe you could try it insted ?
