I was wondering about the possibility of having pre-built config files that would be specific to a specific type of machine. For example, a glis-web-server script that would have apache, php, my-sql, and some generic config files and possiblly even the option to build the servers in a chroot jail. I'm running a web-server and i'm always concerned about the security of the server, i look around to find help on configuring the system, but i can't find anything too increadibly specific, like someones existing system that is stable and secure. it would be nice to have some config fies and scripts that would build a system comparable to a production server.
Similar configs could be built for workstations and whatnot for those who are unfamiliar or don't want to spend the time doing extensive configurations.
I would be willing to start making some compilations of scripts, but i need some to work from so if you have installed gentoo with glis, post or send me your config file. please zip it up so it will save space on my mail. e-mail is pottzers@hotmail.com |
