i don't even remember what version my first kernel was ...i think it might have been already 1.x, but i'm pretty sure it was way before 2.2.x
in those days i didn't even know there existed other kernels then vanilla ...and i still stick to vanilla when i want stability
also the first thing i learned about kernels was that you DO NOT use the precompile ...the first thing after you have a somewhat built system is to get a copy of the kernel and compile it. ...yea, the good old days _________________ tea+free software+law=hook
