Hello, I am having a minor problem logging out of fluxbox after starting it. It cant be exited unless a kill the server. Now I could put a script in a menu to do this but I feel there must be a cleaner way to get out of fluxbox. |

We might need more information than "can't be exited" to help; what have you tried? Are you running it from an .xsession file or a display manager startup script?
When you say you "kill the server," do you mean you kill the X server? kill -HUP to the fluxbox process would be more graceful, but maybe that's what you're doing.
Also, is there an 'exit' command in your fluxbox menu, maybe in one of the submenus? If not, you can one there: "[exit] (Exit)" wherever you'd like it in your menu (the default menu is /usr/share/commonbox/menu, but is overridden if you have ~/.fluxbox/menu). |

What I mean is that the exit command does not exit. And I am using the Ctrl-Alt-Backspace combination to kill X. |

The exit command is in the default menu (the one in /usr/share/commonbox/menu, which is used if you don't have ~/.fluxbox/menu). If you're using your own menu (~/.fluxbox/menu), put "[exit] (Exit)" in it somewhere; then, after restarting fluxbox or reloading the config, you should have 'Exit' in your fluxbox menu.
That should do it. If not, is there anything in your fluxbox menu at all? What display manager are you using? Are you running fluxbox from an .xsession file? |

I am not using a display manager. I am using startx to run fluxbox. At which point i use a custom .xinitrc file to intialize all my programs. |

Were you able to get Exit into your fluxbox menu? |

It was always there. And after looking in of all places a gentoo chat, and I found out one hour later that I needed to add the line
to the end of my $HOME/.xinitrc file I am sorry not to be more detailed |

Ah, right. If you want details about how/why this works, it's in questions 13-15 of the fluxbox FAQ.
Glad to hear you got it working! |
