Hi,
Do you want to install a nvidia graphic card or you have a nvidia chipset on your motherboard ?
If it's an nvidia card, you have to emerge nvidia-glx and nvidia-kernel. Then do:
1- opengl-update nvidia
2- add nvidia in this file /etc/modules.autoload
3- Change the nv driver for nvidia in /etc/X11/XF86Config file
Reload X server. That's it ! You'd see the nvidia splash screen.
If you mean nvidia chipset, there is an option about it under Characters device.
NVIDIA nForce/nForce2 chipset support
Hope this help.
