alright i got my computer to emerge gaming sources but now i emerged genkernel. i go to use genkernel and it says
Code: | Can't Find /sbin/functions.sh; Exiting. |
can i use nano to re create that file? or can i just skip this step? or is there some how i can get this file replaced?

Well you skip that step...but you will need to refer to section 7.b. Default: Manual Configuration of the Gentoo Linux Documentation Handbook. In other words, you can compile the kernel manually instead of having genkernel compiling it for you. |

there seems to be an error with the baselayout package. did you install from stage-3? if yes, did the tar... give you errors?
try to re-emerge baselayout.
