I've emerge the latest version of Nicotine..but when I try to start it Actions>Run Application>Nicotine in gnome, nothing happens. No errror messages or anything either..It started doing this when I emerged -u nicotine.
Thoughts? |

try running it from a terminal, it must give some type of error - even just a segmentation fault; that said, have you tried reemerging it? _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |

Was missing pygtk. Odd..I thought emerge was supposed to take care of such things. Thanks! |

Did you recently upgrade from python-2.2 to python-2.3? If you did, you need to re-emerge all your python packages for them to work. This is something that really needs to be sorted out in portage. _________________ Real men use every GAIM protocol. |

Ah ok, so it is all just a matter of re-emerging python packages, no wonder it refuses to start by claiming it cannot find pyGTK. |
