I'm having a similar problem.
After
I execute
and get response
Code: | mount: can't find /dev/cdrom in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab |
In /etc/fstab:
Code: | /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom auto noatu,user 0 0 |

I got it to work now, but I have a cd-rw drive and it just happens that a cd-rw is in the drive. How do I allow write access? |

You can't do that, IIRC. You need a program for burning CDs, like cdrecord. You can't mount a CD-RW unless there is a file system on it (-> after burning it). _________________ Hier fliegen gleich die Löcher aus dem Käse

More exactly: you can't do that, period, unless your drive supports packet writing, and you're running a 2.6 kernel (I don't think anyone has backported packet writing to 2.4), and you need a cd-rw or dvd+-rw to do it.
