I just found this on http://gdesklets.gnomedesktop.org this afternoon. It's a nice weather applet for gDesklets that displays a 5-day forecast as well as current conditions. It's neat.

Just installed it... how do you get the border around it and the icons to be spaced out? For me, the little sun or cloud or whatever icon covers up the text.

Install superkaramba (version 0.33) and then download liquid weather from http://www.kde-look.org/ (In the left panel, there is a link to karamba applets).

Nice, I have downloaded and installed this desklet, and it looks really cool, the only problem is setting the location code, does anyone know how I find the location code for my (or any other area), they are not in any format I recognize (like airport codes). Cheers

although my usual policy is to hold back on desklets that are new, giving them some time to become stable etc, this one looks really good :)

This is beautiful and I am happy that someone made this. I was going to try and convert the kde weather app but it would have taken forever as I dont know any programming.

Thanks for the great work!

The ebuild is prefixed desklet-, as with all of the other desklets, so in this case becomes desklet-goodweather. It resides with all of the other desklet- packages in x11-plugins/.

The sole exception is the core library which exists in gnome-extra/gdesklets-core.

mine loads the desklet but the information is not refreshed, i do not know the units of the config though, i have it set to refresh every 10, but i don't know what this is, (10 what, hours, mins, seconds ???)
when the desklet is first loaded it gets the information, then it does not update/refresh

That's odd, It refreshes itself every half-hour or so on my machine. I think the units for the refresh interval are minutes, since mine is set to 30.
