Hi guys,

I want to disable that annoying message (showing up when closing the respective browser): "Authentication required: The login keyring did not get unlocked when you logged into your computer.".

I am aware of the "--password-store=basic" switch for the executable but it only works (why???) for chrome itself not for its derivations Vivaldi and Opera.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome

Thanks in advance

BTW : I checked the useflags of Vivaldi or Opera but there is nothing slighty interessting regarding the issue.

Hi
Try
Code:

USE="-gnome-keyring" emerge -1av app-crypt/pinentry
emerge -cav gnome-keyring virtual/secret-service app-crypt/libsecret

Also make sure there are no references to "gnome-keyring" in /etc/portage/package.use
Then best if you added universal
Code:

USE="-gnome -gnome-keyring"

In make.conf
and rebuilt @world
PS:I hope you are not using gnome :)

OK, I did what you suggested but to no avail :

Code:
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] net-libs/glib-networking-2.68.2::gentoo  USE="libproxy ssl -gnome* -test" ABI_X86="32 (64) (-x32)" 234 KiB
[ebuild   R    ] x11-misc/lightdm-1.30.0-r2::gentoo  USE="gtk introspection qt5 -audit -gnome* -non_root -vala" 499 KiB
[ebuild  N     ] virtual/secret-service-0::gentoo  0 KiB
[ebuild   R    ] app-crypt/pinentry-1.2.0::gentoo  USE="gnome-keyring* gtk ncurses qt5 -caps -efl -emacs" 0 KiB
[ebuild  N     ] gnome-base/gnome-keyring-40.0::gentoo  USE="caps filecaps pam ssh-agent (-selinux) -test" 1,303 KiB

I manually removed virtual/secret-service-0 since it stopped my from removing gnome-keyring.

But the world update pulls that stuff in again, although -gnome and -gnome-keyring has been added to make.conf USE flags...

OK nevermind, I found the culprit, pinentry was in package.use with gnome-keyring USE flags.

Thanks for helping me solving it!

I really hate so say it... The problem remains :( The behaviour of both browsers stays exactly the same.

I did reboot ofc. My only guess now would be to rebuild Vivaldi and Opera but that has to happen tomorrow :)

Rebuilding the browsers did not fix it.
