Dear all,
I just installed Gentoo on my P4 box.
Everything was working fine until I reboot for the first boot-up.
I have this error:
"
...
USB Mass Storage support registered.
---- Detected usb-storage hardware.
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
"
And the comp just hang there.
I don't know how to resolve this, could someone suggest a way ?
btw, both my keyboard and mouse are usb.
I have 20GB harddisk.
hda1
and hda2 for Window
hda3 is swap
hda4 is Gentoo
many thanks!

I'm not an expert, but I'd recompile a new kernel without the USB Storage option and see if that boots OK. It doesn't sound like you need USB Storage support anyway. |
