I am supposing nobody's dared, but I thought I'd hedge my bets by posting here.
Has anyone installed Gentoo on Google's Coral Dev Board?
The Coral Dev Board has derivative system based on Debian "Buster" (v. 10) and they have to name the operating system something other than Debian, so they selected "Mendel" to conform with Debian's policy about names when creating a derivative operating system.
My goal is to install the current high watermark of gstreamer and while I could possibly cross compile a new Mendel like system based on Debian v. 11 "Bullseye", I'm just buying into the very problem I am experiencing now: version creep incompatibilities across segmented versions of an operating system. I guess I've been using Gentoo for so long it seems odd not to have a system that cannot be upgraded. Gentoo has spoiled me. |
