I have refind installed. Boot is /dev/sda1, swap is /dev/sda2, root is /dev/sda3. When I boot, Refind identifies the kernel file, then it echoes the string I Have that just says root=/dev/sda3 to the screen. A few moments later the screen goes black and it stops booting. How do I determine the cause? I have the same kernel command line baked into the kernel that refind is using and still no boot. I have set up another computer that is a different model and it boots to UEFI no problem. I have all the UEFI kernel items set and can see the efivars mounted. /boot is vfat, per the handbook, and / is ext4.
Ideas on how to solve this?
Thanks!

Screen goes black, this you can see. But how do you know it stops booting?

See if NumLock responds. Try to switch to another virtual terminal with CTRL+ALT+F{2,3,4...}. If your system is configured to boot into a desktop manager, press ALT+SysRQ+R to switch the keyboard to raw mode. Test NumLock again to see if it responds. Try to switch to another virtual terminal again. Test if CTRL+ALT+DEL reboots the system. If it does, you have a problem with your framebuffer device and graphic card drivers. If it doesn't, you may have a problem with your keyboard driver as well.

Georgi

It was the kernel after all- I switched to GRuB and had the same problem. Added some simple framebuffer devices and booted. Thanks for the help!
