Touchpad or Video stream? _ SOLVED--For now!

I am new to this Gentoo Gnu/Linux learning process by choice. I am learning a lot each day. Mostly i am presented with new issues which I know nothing about. I've been mucking about for two weeks now, fixing the issues with the touchpad, I2C, synaptics. Suddenly the streaming video on the internet freezes or refuses to load. Remove the touchpad funtionality and streaming video, perfect. Has anyone come across this?

Why not touchpad and streamning video? This machine has 2021 Nvidia. It eats and it needs to be nourished. Lots of good food @ media-video. The gpu really works well with media-video/nvidia-video-codec

Hello Gentoo Support Community,
I just came back on and saw your reply, Neddy Seagoon. When I restarted my machine after I posted, not only don't I have video, but now the Strawberry player I was listening to all afternoon while I worked is no longer playing. I'll get back when I work out the
details.

Hello Gentoo Support Community,
I solved the problem I was having with Strawberry audio and streaming video on YouTube by unemerging pulseaudio. I have Alsa along with a lot of other programs. It is not clear to me how to know which programs play nice together on my system and which bring it to non functional state. What I did this morning, after unmerginng many media-video programs I loaded on Wednesday Dec 23, rebooting each time to see if that changed the working condition, no fundamental change to condition. I unmerged media-video/nvidia-video-codec and then later emerged it again. Enough of that. So, I decided to look through rc-logs and syslogs from the past few days. Tedious. I did decide to just look at the end of the days. After getting really bored and overwhemed with that I went to the end of system log for today. I saw some message about pulseaudio that looked troubling. (I never know when to write down these glimpses). Anyway I remembered something about how some other user had solved their issue by unmerging pulseaudio. So I did and problem solved. Not sure what the conflict with PulseAudio is, but I'm glad to have audio/video working again
