|
|
I am trying to update my system but it fails when doing sys-libs/glibc and I can't seem to prevent it. I found a couple of bug reports (823780 828546) of people having the same issue as me, but the fix of updating to the newest GCC and using it does not seem to be working.
The key issue in the build log is obvious...
Code: |

I am using the following version of GCC, an older one is also listed but I will clean that up at some point...
Code: |
# gcc-config -l

[2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-11.2.1 *

And finally here is the full build log: https://files.johntate.org/glibc-2.34-r10-build.log.txt (there are some issues with encoding though)
I would just open a bug report for this but from what I read in the bugs at the start of my post, this should work after GCC has been updated. Yet I have updated GCC and it does not fix the issue. |

If you're hitting an issue, you should still file a bug. Your issue is different to those linked GCC-related bugs.
Your issue is you're forcing -fcf-protection=full in make.conf and only the latest glibc ebuilds (2.34-r11, etc) filter it out as a result of a bug report(!). I'm just going to add it to the stable version too (so sync in a few hours then it should work) to avoid more duplicates. |

I decided to sync and try again and it failed in the same way. I then decided to try emerging sys-libs/glibc-2.34-r11 and unmasked it and all that and I still have the same problem. I guess I will try again later, but at this point I cannot sync out of this issue.
Update: I have decided to change my CFLAGS to get this working and now it does. |
