I was messing around with IMwheel and now in order to get mouse scrolling to work, I must enter xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5" every time I boot up. My question is, where is the best place to place this command so that when I boot up into GNOME, I don't have to do this manually? |

Why not just change the ZAxis line in /etc/X11/XF86Config to
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
instead? Nips the problem in the bud.. |

~/.xinitrc is a good place to start . _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. After all, you got nothing to lose.

The "BEST" place to put it (it's intended spot) is in the global /etc/X11/Xmodmap file. Here is what you should write in that file:
Code: | pointer = 1 2 3 6 7 4 5 |
do not put any -e or stuff like that...

Excellent, the Xmodmap file worked for me. I *had* tried it in the .Xinitrc file earlier, but it wasn't working for some reason. In any case, thanks to all for the help. |

mabye because the file ist called: .xinitrc and not .Xinitrc? _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. After all, you got nothing to lose.
