I'm having a bit of a brainfart here. I set this server up over 10 years ago. At some point, I set something somewhere that said to blank the screen after 10 minutes. This is text-mode only, this server does not have X installed on it at all. Anyway, I've found that plugging in a keyboard and hitting keys does NOT wake the display up once it's off (maybe it would if the keyboard was already connected before, but this machine normally runs headless). I've decided I want to get rid of this setting. The problem is, I have NO CLUE where I set this. I thought it was something in local, rc.conf, or inittab, but it's in none of those places and I'm at a loss. I set it over 10 years ago and I just can't remember where I did it). Does anyone have any clue where I might've put this? Thus far using grep has not found anything useful.

The only thing I can seem to remember is putting "-blank 10" somewhere in some file.

Ah yes, setterm was it. It turns out I had put it in rc.local a LONG time ago before local.d, local.start, and local.stop were a thing. I removed it at some point because it wasn't in there anymore. I just added the setterm commands to my local.start, and the kernel consoleblank variable is 0 now.
