Iobase in gentoo

I am fairly newbe here. Still I want to give a suggestion (forgive me for that). Will it be possible to maintain Iobase in gentoo repository or overlay (officially or unofficially) in future ? Iobase was essentially openbsd userlamd port for Linux which has been deprecated. Maybe it will be a great idea for gentoo hardened system.

I think someone would need to be willing to maintain it upstream first, which is no small feat. Otherwise it wouldn't be very hardened to use an unmaintained userland.
