I intend, in the near future, to set up a Ryzen desktop again to build some more arm Gentoo. I have only been able to find a register string example for aarch64 in the Gentoo Embedded Handbook or Sakaki's guide for building with user mode. At kernel.org, I was hoping to find hints or examples but either they don't exist or my search techniques fail.
The magic and mask parts of the string in the Embedded Handbook examples, arm and aarch64, have one more place than Sakaki's examples. They are an additional trailing default value, as best I can tell. The kernel.org examples for a Win register have the same number as Sakaki's.
As I cannot find any other examples, I intend to use the Embedded Handbook examples. I was just wondering if someone had some insight, or could point me to a more verbose written explanation.

Not an explanation, but a hint:
cat /etc/init.d/qemu-binfmt
Service qemu-fmt registers qemu-user-targets. If you're only interested in the result, you can simply enable this service, and if you need an explanation, perhaps someone around qemu could point you in the right direction. |
