AFAIK xmule is not updated anymore. Try amule:
Code:
emerge amule

What about:
Code:
rm -rf .{a,x}Mule
Perhaps that will sove the problem (make backups first).

Code:
emerge wxGTK

Hmm. Only thing I can suggest you is emerging wxGTK with gtk1 (and not gtk2) support:
Code:
USE="gtk -gtk2" emerge wxGTK

Perhaps you've to remerge amule too.

well, everytime i execute amule/xmule, the following warning appears

Code:

(process:6075): Gdk-WARNING **: can not set locale modifiers
Initialising xMule
split read, found : 0

** (xmule:6075): WARNING **: Unable to set locale modifiers with XSetLocaleModifiers()

will my problem be related to this? but the thing is that i don't know what does it mean..?
