I installed gentoo at school, using a T1, so I didn't install PPPoE at that time. But now I'm home, and I want to set up PPPoE. How can I do this? Is it possible without recompiling the kernel?

P.S. I am a newbie, so please try to make answers comprehensible. Thanks

You do need to have PPP support compiled into your kernel to use PPPoE, so if you don't have that you'll need to recompile it.

After compiled and booted with the new kernel, run adsl-setup to setup your connections.
