|
|
I run gentoo on a thinkpad laptop and use OpenRC as init
I use dwm as the window manager
I use doom emacs.
Recently I went to native compilation when compiling doom emacs.
My doom startup time is usually 5-6 seconds
I would like to use emacsclient so that I do not have to wait for the long doom start up time.
I am sort of a noob at computing.
I followed https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GNU_Emacs#OpenRC to set up using emacs client
When I do Code: | emacsclient -c -a emacs |
it starts emacs but I get an error in emacs
Code: | Warning (initialization): An error occurred while loading ‘/home/eklebanow/.emacs.d/lisp/doom-start.el’:
Error in a Doom module: ../config.el, (end-of-file /home/eklebanow/config.el)
To ensure normal operation, you should investigate and remove the
cause of the error in your initialization file. Start Emacs with
the ‘--debug-init’ option to view a complete error backtrace. Disable showing Disable logging
Error (doom-init-ui-hook): Error running hook "+doom-dashboard-init-h" because: (void-variable persp-auto-save-fname) Disable showing Disable logging
Error (doom-first-input-hook): Error running hook "global-company-mode" because: (void-function evil-normalize-keymaps) Disable showing Disable logging

Why is it loading '/home/eklebanow/.emacs.d/lisp/doom-start-el' ?
That is not how I normally start doom emacs...i have script that starts it from ~/.doom.d/emacs
The doom window that opens up opens instantaneously but gives the error above
How should the daemon work? Should it open up a fully functional doom emacs?
How can I troubleshoot what I am doing wrong? |

Not using doomemacs here...
Maybe doomemacs@github may help.
Thks 4 ur attention, interest & support. _________________ USE="-* ..." in /etc/portage/make.conf here, i.e. a countermeasure to portage implicit braces, belt & diaper paradigm
