|
|
Hello, I have a problem actually. Yesterday, after I followed the wiki to setup my kernel for KVM support in my Gentoo, I was unable to reboot my system.
I did some test with a Gentoo live usb, mounted all of my system manually and tried to found the problem. I saw, when I enable KVM support in my kernel, this hanging appear (just after openrc start lvm service)
To summarize, if I just enable that :
Code: | General setup --->
Timers subsystem --->
<*> High Resolution Timer Support
[*] Virtualization --->
<*> Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) support
[*] Virtualization --->
<M> KVM for Intel processors support |
Openrc will hanging at boot.
How can I fix that ? Because I need KVM to do some virtualization |

We need more details. Start with showing us the full output of a hang, and the equivalent output when the system does not hang. Try enabling openrc's startup debug logging, so you can see exactly what the last step is before the hang. Try to quantify the hang. What continues to work? What stops? Did the kernel panic? Is anything suspicious written to a system log on a failed boot? |

Fulgurance,
Enable OpenRCs Interactive mode.
See /etc/rc.conf. _________________ Regards,
