Hallo,
da ich mir eventuell nächstes Jahr meinen Rechner aufrüsten will ( CPU, Board, RAM ) habe ich mir einige Gedanken darüber gemacht, ob es möglich ist mein bestehendes Linux zu behalten und nicht alles neu zu installieren.
Nun ist es ja aber so, dass
- dann ein anderer Kenel benötigt wird
- die Kompilerflags nicht mehr zutreffen (z.B. Athlon nach Athlon64 o. Pentium 4)
- die Festplattenbenennung sich ändert (hab mehrere Platten)
- Devices anders zugeordent werden (z.B. anstatt 2 dann 8 USB Ports)
- oder anderes was mir noch gar nicht so klar geworden ist
Was müsste ich tun damit ich beim Umstieg auf die neue Hardware
nicht zu schlecht dastehe und bald wieder mit Linux arbeiten kann,
ohne alles neu zu installieren ? |

hallo,
generell ist es glaub nicht wirklich ein grosser act
dein system der neuen hardware anzupassen. wenn du dir einen
neueren proz zulegst laufen deine programme denke ich trotzdem noch, da
z.b. ein athlon-xp alle funktionen hat die ein normaler athlon auch hat.
daher aenderst du ab dem zeitpunkt wo du einen neuen rechner hast
einfach deine cflags und wenn du willst kannst du dein system
per emerge -e world nochmal recompilen.
bezueglich kernel hast du auch mehrere moeglichkeiten. entweder du passt deinen kernel der hardware an bevor du
den rechner umbaust oder bootest halt von cd, machst
nen chroot und compilest dann den neuen kernel.
den x server musst du dann halt der neuen graka anpassen aber das ist auch sache von
minuten. daher duerftest du also keine probleme ham wenn du auf die
