Ok got it at least booting the kernel, but here are my errors

this is my boot screen....

everything is fine till here

* starting devfsd... [ok]
started device management deamon v1.3.24 for /dev
*Activating (possiable) swap... [ok]
*Remounting root filesystem read-only (if necessary) [ok]
*Checking root filesystem....
fsck 1.33 (21-Apr-2003)
modprobe: Can't locate module /dev/ROOT ( this is me talking, i thought i took that out of /etc/fstab)
fsck.ext3 : Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/hda7
/dev/hda7:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2
filesystem. If the device is vaild and it really contains and ext2
filesystem ( and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:
e2fsck -b 8193 <device>

* Filesystem could not be fixed :( [!!]

Give root password for maintenance
(or type ctrl-d for normal startup): modprobe: note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.22/modules.dep
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module mosedev
modprobe: Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.22/modules.dep
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module mousedev

(enterd root password)

bash-2.05b#

I dont know what I did, it prolly seious, I'm a noob, everything was fine till this point :( You guys are great at helping us out, any of it would be greatly appreciated, I've gotten this far, I dont want to give up :)

Thanks in advance

Nick

What entries do you have in your /etc/fstab file? The kernel seems to be expecting a regular linux filesystem (ext2, to be specific) on /dev/hda7, while you've formatted it as a swap partition.
