Hey everyone
I was trying to simplify my gentoo-sources kernel, and I read some articles like "how to configure your own kernel with your own hardware",but may be because I am a total noob,I didn't finish it
So I changed my direction to
Code:
make localyesconfig

I have a question here
What are those options that appears after
Code:
make localyesconfig

Why I am seeing them,I mean what is the purpose to let me choose?
Are they related to my local hardware?or they are new options in kernel but closed in my present kernel ?
I am so confused on this,I consulted many people, some said "all no",some said "all yes",but no one told me about WHY I HAVE TO DO ANYONE OF THEM (including articles on Internet that I can browse, most of them are outdated)

Need help,plz teach me something

Maybe this helps:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/admin-guide/README.html#configuring-the-kernel
I dont recommend to go this way. If you want to know what is "inside" your kernel, then do ONCE a big configuration session with this article:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger/Tutorials/Manual_kernel_configuration
and then you have your own config you will use for every new kernel version. For this you will use "make oldconfig" (see my article). Here it depends if you do a minor or a major upgrade. With a major upgrade you will get questions about new options.

(An example for this is in my german post for updating from 5.15.x to 6.1.x: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8766427.html#8766427 )
