Greetings & Salutations my friends! How are we doing this fine day using the finest OS that has ever been created?
I just wanted to stop by and say I just found the Official Gentoo Discord Server https://discord.gg/gentoolinux & I have to say (Ive only been there a few days) however from what Ive experienced so far its a real hoot and a holler! A great ole time  Very welcoming and sportive community. I'm proud to say, I will be sticking around.
If you decide to pop bye tell em Filthy sent ya!

I don't see an obvious reference on www.gentoo.org designating use of Discord in any official capacity, nor anything recent on gentoo-announce@. Where did you see that this is an official project? Even the Gentoo Wiki, which as a user-editable resource deserves a bit less credibility here, makes no mention of it on https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Discord. If this is an official project, it would be nice to get it a more prominent mention to avoid user doubt about its provenance. If it isn't an official project, the Gentoo project may want to encourage the operators of the Discord channel to make that clear.
Unfortunately, Discord seems to be completely non-functional with NoScript installed. I think I'll stick with things that work properly without running random Javascript. |

Hu! Im glad you arrived Yes I actually don't recall how I found the Discord, I was pretty shocked when I found it tbh (i just stumbled there) however even with the mention of "Official" with a green tick I was initially skeptical as ive have never heard of a mention of a "Official Gentoo Discord Server" lol
So the first comment I left was "Is this actually the Offical Gentoo Discord?" And they provided a very warm welcome to myself and thats about it. I am currently in commuication with a mod immolo (super great) I will pass this into to him!
PS - Hu! Ill have you know I do not pipe to grep the kernel config anymore <3 thank you honestly!

I might not be an old dog, but i'm not into this new trick. Discord is the type of service you pay with your privacy/data, so no thanks. I think it would be bad if Gentoo would use a service like that as an official channel.

If these issues are ever corrected, I'd consider using it.
