juniper,
Not all DVI ports are created equally. DVI can carry analogue (VGA) output too.
That's the blade pin and the four pins beside it.
The analogue output is not required by the specificatin, so the pins beside the blade are not fitted.
If you need the VGA output, look carefully.
That card is a low profile double width card. It will take up the video card slot and the slot next door.
What video output(s) do you need? _________________ Regards,

The max res of my monitor is 2560x1440. It can run at high refresh rate (144Hz). The monitor takes displayport, hdmi and vga connectors. My impression is that of the 3 displayport is the best (in terms of being able to carry the hghest res). |

juniper,
That's correct and VGA is the poorest quality' so should be avoided.
Do you have space for a double width card?
The HDMI and Display Port have been through several revisions but kept backward compatibility with older versions of the standards.
Take care with the card length. _________________ Regards,

I think you are basically saying the card is too fat?
No. I am not using the other slots, so they are free. Also I think you said I can be a bit loose with the 40W limit because all the other slots are free. I will look some more, and get this card if I can;t find anything else. It use the amdgpu driver if I am not mistaken. |

juniper,
Graphics cards come in single width, double width an even bigger.
The width is something to be aware of.
If you have the space, its fine. It will overhang the PCIe connector in the slot next door and use two backplate screws.
Its a feature to be aware of.
As you say, it needs the amdgpu kernel driver. _________________ Regards,
