Ok, I am running gentoo-dev-sources, and just freshly reinstalled, emerged the ati drivers, compiled my kernel with agpgart as a module, and my mobo for agpgart as a module, I compiled xf86, used fglrxconfig, told it not to use internal agpgart, did opengl-update ati and tried startx, this time the only errors I get are from fglrx saying can't initialize AGP support, but I know I have it under my kernel as a module, so I edited XFree86Config-4 and told it yes to using internal agpgart instead, still the same error, what am I doing wrong? Should I compile agpgart as a module, and put my mobo as compiled in? or should I compile in both? any help would be great.

What kind of hardware are you running on your setup?

In general, you would want to have AGP support built in as a module, along with support for your motherboard. Specifically for the 2.6 kernels, you need to also put the module into your /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 in order for it to autoload the modules (and any other ones you may have) on boot.

Hopefully, this helps a bit.
