My CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (APU with AMD Radeon RX Vega 7, Cezanne)
I use gentoo-sources (6.1.19), Sway.
Immediately after startup, everything usually works as it should, but with a small load, periodic freezes begin for 1-2 seconds. At medium-high load, the interface may completely freeze (fixed by rebooting). Freezes are not related to memory overflow (I tried with and without zram), also I have 16G Kingston DDR4.
I configured the kernel according to the handbook, tried to disable AMD Secure Memory Encryption. I tested working under load with Gentoo LiveGUI in KDE Plasma Wayland mode and with Sway. Nothing.
Most likely I configured the kernel incorrectly, or the guide is outdated. |

There are reported issues with "stuttering" in recent AMD chipsets fixed by either an updated BIOS or an updated kernel - see this Phoronix item. That said, I don't know if what you are seeing counts as "stuttering". However, the fix is supposed to be in 6.1.19. Are you sure that's the kernel you are running (rather than just installed - there are lots of forum items where the two are not the same!), _________________ Greybeard |

I tried to update BIOS (which with AMD AGESA >1207, so it should be fixed) or disable fTPM, but nothing changed.
This problem not happen on LiveGUI, although it uses TPM.
P.S I checked neofetch, it's definitely 6.1.19, no other versions of kernel installed (eselect kernel list) |

Please post your kernel config and the output of dmesg. You may want to use wegtpaste. |

also, start Sway in debug mode via sway -d >sway.log 2>&1 as logged in user from commandline (TTY) and wgetpaste sway.log from your users home folder.
maybe sway will tell what's wrong or missing.
using Sway/Waybar only system here, no Xorg and i love it

There are many error messages in the Sway logs. |
