|
|
I'm trying to install from the chrooted environment after stage2 with "emerge system", however it fails here :-
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. /usr/local/include -O2 -mcpu=i686 -pipe -c ltdl.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/ltdl.lo
gcc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations
make[1]: *** [ltdl.lo] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/libtool-1.4.1-r6/work/libtool-1.4.1/libltdl'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 5, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)
!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/sys-devel/libtool/libtool-1.4.1-r6.ebuild
Any help would be much appreciated!! |

I wonder whether you discovered a resolution since your posting. But if i may modestly suggest simply applying the "emerge system" script from that point. I confronted the same problem during a recent install and emerge seemed to just resume from where it errored.
hope this helps.

I've sorted this out, I used the stage3 tarball to install instead. I was using stage2 after chrooting from a LFS install, rather than using the boot CD, I was being lazy by avoiding, the initial network setup stuff etc. Anyways it can be done with stage3 |
