I am using KDE window manager and everytime that I use Mozilla or Konquerer, my machine freezes up and has to have the power turned off to reboot. I'm not sure why this would happen as xf86config was ran and all hardware is setup properly. Can someone help? It sucks not being able to browse the internet from that box. I do have /home/username/.xsession-errors and I can put those in here if needed. Thanks, Jeremy _________________ He who listens well, speaks well.

I had a similar problem with my laptop. After using the 2.6-test kernels I had somehow a problem with my x-server. It freezes from time to time. I wasn't able to figure out the cause. Upgrading to xfree-4.3.99-901 helped. Untill now I had no more problems.

sounds to me like somethings is wrong in either kernel or graphics driver... what kind of hardware are you using? It might be helpful if you post it...
Oh and since the computer hard freezes I take it there's nothing in the logs, right? Otherwise please post that as well...

I had to turn off apci support in my grub config. That was it. Thanks a lot, Jeremy _________________ He who listens well, speaks well. |
