vmware-workstation gcc not found

i read

and install vmware

i do with root:
vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

Failed to get gcc information.

if i run in kde alt + f2 than vmware player or vmware workstation
i will ask for the gcc path

i try which gcc and see /usr/bin/gcc
i give vmware this "/usr/bin/gcc"
but vmware tells me "a compatible version of gcc was not found"
