| I'm just curious before I start my install tomorrow. Say I need to grab some files off a box on my network, are both ssh and ftp clients available to me with the livecd? |

After your network is up and you've chrooted emerge is available. So you are able to use ssh and ftp.

after booting the live cd you can use http, ftp, ssh, ...
