Apparently vlc-3 and greater now support chromecast. I've compiled media-video/vlc-3.0.0-r1 with the chromecast use flag but it does not see my chromecast device.
My browser sees and works fine with the device, as does all of my android and chromebook devices.
Playback > Renderer > <Local> is the only device shown, with Scanning... in grey underneath.
Anyone having success with this? Or why it doesn't work here?
Thanks! _________________ WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Grep |

Scanning required libmicrodns. I'm working on packaging it and getting the vlc ebuild updated to include it. |
