|

Hi,
out of curiosity I installed net-p2p/kubo. The ebuild and the corresponding Gentoo Wiki tell me that for a first startup, I should run
Code: |
su -s /bin/sh -c "ipfs init -e" ipfs
|
Doing so, I am prompted to enter a password that I don't seem to have. Couldn't I just rn ipfs init?
Kind regards,
Andreas |

Is this the usual prompt from /bin/su that it wants before running a command as root, or is it some password request from ipfs? This looks to me like it could be the non-Ubuntu counterpart of sudo ipfs init -e. I cannot comment on why ipfs needs to run as root, or if this is an error in the Wiki. |

The description in Wiki and ebuild is a little confusing. (Btw., starting kubo/ipfs from the init-scripts, does not work either.) |
