I'm just curious. Why is there such a large gap/jump between my current profiles (17.1) and the new profiles (23.0)? Were there experimental profiles being tested that ate up 18-22? |

It's based on the year the profile was made, work for 23 profiles started in 2023 so they're 23 (took a while so they ended up getting officially announced in 2024 though).
17 ones were 2017. |

Kellerkalt,
The profiles are named for the year of there release. There were two in 2017, so 17.0 and 17.1
The /23.0/ profile has been in the works for some time. It was supposed to be read in time for the end of 2023, so I supposed in should have been renamed to /24.0/ but there is no added value in that.
There are no intermediate profiles, at least, not by Gentoo.
Other repos can release their own profiles :) _________________ Regards,
