I don't have an Epson printer, so probably cannot be much help, but are there any config files for Epson printers in the /etc/sane.d/ directory, and did you define the printer's IP address in one of those config files? For example:
Code: | # epson2.conf
#
# here are some examples for how to configure the EPSON2 backend
# SCSI
scsi EPSON
# for the GT-6500:
#scsi "EPSON SC"
# Parallel port
#pio 0x278
#pio 0x378
#pio 0x3BC
# USB
usb
# For libusb support for unknown scanners use the following command
# usb <vendor ID> <product ID>
# e.g.:
# usb 0x4b8 0x110
# Network
#
net 192.168.1.123
net autodiscovery |
Also, I notice that there are ebuilds for the Epson scanner driver Epson Scan 2 in some third-party Gentoo overlays. Have you tried any of those?:

Than you.. you pointed me to right direction
I have edited files and add manually the epson2.conf and epsonds.conf and even saned.conf
on epson scanner tool by zugaina, I have to add manually the scanner . (does not auto detect)
on sane scan scanner and document scanner, it now detects my scanner
Anyway, atleast I can now print and scan
so seems like auto detection does not work..
Oh well lesson learned ....
Thanks alot again _________________ Oh Yeah!!! |
