Hi,
I'm using Plasma 6 on nonsystemd, split-usr profile.
After upgrade from 17.1 to 23.0 ( default/linux/amd64/23.0/split-usr/desktop/plasma) I'm no more able reboot or shutdown the system directly from KDE. KDE switch off, but then I end up with black screen with blinking cursor. I have to switch to text console and invoke poweroff from there. I think I'm missing something, but I can't find what. I've checked system logs, sddm logs and there is nothing suspicious. It is probably elogind as does nothing on first run and on second run complains that shutdown is in progress.

Yes, I'm aware. I'm testing KDE6 from first beta and I never had such issue. Then I've switched to new profile and something broke. Additionaly, I've two laptops, one with AMD/nVidia, second plain Intel. Both have the same issue after switch to 23.0.
There were other issues, mainly connected to bin packages broken in split-usr profile.
I've tested several sddm versions, both x11 and wayland backeds, issue remains. Also there are some simmilar issues in sddm github. |

Hello,
I think you can change the halt command and reboot command in the System Settings. On Plasma 5 at least, I can go to System Settings -> Login Screen (SDDM) -> Behavior (behavior is a button towards the bottom) which has options for 'halt command' and 'reboot command'. This may or may not be the fix you're looking for, but its worth a look! |
