|
|
Hello all:
I successfully changed profile to kde-plasma and I found kontact(mail client for plasma desktop) is not useable(for me)
I tried to run it by konsole, click 'Setup your account' and kontact crashed
Code: |
❯ kontact
/bin/sh: line 1: accountwizard: command not found
kf.kio.gui: "<html>The command <tt>accountwizard</tt> could not be found.</html>"
|
Am I missing something uninstalled?

Hello:
Last problem was solved but I got a new one here...
Can you take a look:
Cannot connect to the Personal Information management service.
There are no Akonadi Agents available.
Please verify your KDE PIM installation. |

Don’t worry, that’s ok !
KDE have a lot of features and sometimes it’s complicated to get into it.
If needed, there is also the wiki’s channel #gentoo-kde@libera.chat, the wiki’s page I showed you, and you can still ask around on the forum ;).

If kontact depend on kde-apps/kmail-account-wizard, shouldn't kmail-account-wizard have been automatically installed as dependency? Does this count as a bug? |

Honestly what I was wondering, too. I built Kontact yesterday and let it run overnight to find it crashing in the morning. After digging in, I found that 'accountwizard' was missing and causing the crash. Seems odd to not pull in one more package when it already pulled in ~70 yesterday. |

kontact is the container for the single applications not the mail client itsself.
kmail, the mail client, pulls in kmail-account-wizard.
I suggest to install kde-apps/kdepim-meta in order to have best user-experiance.
Afterwards you can decide what you need and what not.
