Hi!

I'm using openhab for years, and before, I maintained it manually.
Since feb 2024, there is an ebuild.

I installed version 4.1.1 without any problem.
Then I upgraded to version 4.1.2

Portage sees it at version 4.1.2
Code:
[ebuild   R   *] app-misc/openhab-bin-4.1.2::gentoo  0 KiB

but Openhab still reports being 4.1.1
Code:
2024-04-07 23:46:01.533 [WARN ] [org.apache.felix.fileinstall        ] - /opt/openhab/addons does not exist, please create it.
2024-04-07 23:46:01.625 [ERROR] [org.apache.felix.fileinstall        ] - Cannot create folder /opt/openhab/userdata/tmp/bundles. Is the folder write-protected?

2024-04-07 23:46:20.151 [INFO ] [org.openhab.core.Activator          ] - Starting openHAB 4.1.1 (build Release Build)

It seems the metadata are not upgraded.
How can I upgrade Openhab to 4.1.2 ?

Question 2 is : are the standard add-ons also installed? where ? I see in the logs that Openhab doens't know where to find them.

There is no wiki page at wiki.gentoo.org.
Some minimal documentation could be useful...

Hi,

some updates:

After an update we need to run
Code:
openhab-cli clean-cache
while openhab is stopped.
see bug 935737

I also filed a request to support openrc
