To improve a musical show, I am looking for a software that will let me send a video output directly to a beamer. I found app-misc/qlcplus, and it look like to be appropriate to do that. Before I begun to follow the tutorials, am I right, and is it some alternatives I can try?
To start with, I want to be able to divide the rectangle of the beamer screen into 3 parts: 2 vertical rectangles with graphics (or maybe animations) to the left and the right sides, and the third rectangle in the middle, it will take only a horizontal part of the upper part of the screen and be used for videos. Everything outside these 3 rectangles must be just a black background in order to not interfere with other lightning devices and to not flash me.
EDIT: qlcplus cannot do what I want. I found this https://wiki.thingsandstuff.org/Lighting and from here, I found luz: https://github.com/lighttroupe/luz that should be fine, but it doesn't compile. I will make a bug on github with the gtkmm issues I get when compiling it.
In case I cannot get it to compile, I can try to use 3 mplayer instances on a black desktop background. The desktop is fvwm-crystal, which make it very easy to place and resize the mplayer instances, and it is just one key binding to hide all the fvwm-crystal buttons, and with its debug window, it is very easy to remove the borders and title bar of the mplayer windows.
EDIT2: the bug is here: https://github.com/lighttroupe/luz/issues/17
EDIT3: It is vimix, Live Video Mixing: https://github.com/brunoherbelin/vimix
It compile just fine. _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |
